As Daagh once wrote,

Urdu hai jis ka naam hum jantay hain daagh saray jahan mai dhoom apni zubaan ki hai

I dont agree with Daagh, but yes if we talk in terms of all the proverbs we use in Urdu then we could say that ,

Been thinking abt the Urdu proverbs, When i wrote down all the proverbs that i could recall, I realized that all of them had animal/birds’ references.

wondering whether URDU language was ORIGINATED IN AFRICA, cuz all the famous ones involve animals/birds.

Its a very strange revelation, wondering why our predecessors had to come up with all these silly things, had they been living very close to the animals/birds/nature? or they just borrowed all these from some African tribes, hahah.

I don’t think the languages originated in the dark jungles have as many proverbs( involving animals )as URDU.

Interesting and strange at the same time.

The End

May 7, 2007

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
Ill never look into your eyes…again

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die.
